RACE INFO Course Description

The fifth annual Gaucho Gallop features the Dioji Dog Dash, Elite Performance & Rehabilitation Center 5K, Santa Barbara Running Company 10K, and the all-new Gaucho Challenge presented by SB Airbus. Runners will enjoy incredible views of the ocean while exploring the UCSB campus.

7:30am: Day of Event Registration Opens

8:15am: Dioji Dog Dash Begins

8:30am: Dioji Doggie Lounge opens with a bark!

9:00am: Start of the 5K and 10K Races

9:20am: Start of the Finish Line Festival

9:30am: Start of the Gaucho Challenge

10:00am: G Kids Dash

SBAA Grand Prix The Santa Barbara Running Company 10K has been recognized by the Santa Barbara Athletic Association as a worthy addition to their Grand Prix competition and has been awarded Grand Prix status. If you register by Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 online or through the mail, you may pick up your packet at Santa Barbara Running Company's Goleta store located at 129 N. Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA 93117, tel: 805-964-6700, on Friday, April 27th, 12pm to 6pm. Packet pick up and late registration will also be available race day at UCSB's Harder Stadium from 7:30am until the start of the race.

Dash Make sure to stick around for the free "G Kids" Dash sponsored by UCSB Athletics. Kids ages up to 12 will be led out by Ole, the official Gaucho mascot, and the Geico Gecko on a dash around the field inside of Harder Stadium. Ribbons will be provided to all finishers. Traveling from the South:
Take the 101 Freeway to Airport/UCSB exit (Highway 217) approximately eight miles north of Santa Barbara to the entrance of campus (you will pass underneath the Henley Gate). Take a right at the roundabout and travel along Mesa Road. Go straight at your third light (the campus Recreation Center will be kitty corner to you) to stay on Mesa Road. Turn left on Stadium road and continue until you see our friendly volunteers (volunteers will be on hand to provide parking passes).

Traveling From the North on the 101 Freeway:
Take the Los Carneros exit off U.S. 101 (approximately ten miles north of Santa Barbara). Turn right on Los Carneros Road and proceed two miles to Mesa Road (if you reach El Colegio, you have gone too far). Turn left on Mesa Road and head to Stadium Road where you will take a right. Continue until you see our friendly volunteers (volunteers will be on hand to provide parking passes).
